Year in Review: 28
Annual birthday morning reflection ……Kicked off my 28th year in Paris celebrating Pat’s birthday with Jackie. Rung in the New Year with my stunning sisters on a tiny island in Panama missing our mom. Rocked a lime green ski onesie in the Montana mountains chasing Jess per tradition. Walked away from my 2nd weekend at Summit with a new NYC family that doubled the next month after my first Camp No Counselors.
Froze my eggs, shit went terribly wrong, chose to write about it, and things got crazy. My first piece for VICE went viral, Fox LA, TIME spread in July, and Dr. OZ show last month made me realize America is really curious about fertility choices. A summer sprinkled with bachelorette parties, Santa Monica with the fam, and one more Camp No Counselors helped get me back on my feet just in time for summer. Got the greatest gift of my life over eggs benedict when Val told me she’s having our first baby ( boy!). Yacht Week BVIs with a killer crew and my partner in crime Bella was the opening curtain and set off a series of remarkable moments which lasted through the summer.
I took the biggest curtain of my life so far performing for 600 at the MOTH Grand Slam surrounded by so much love. My baby idea for curating my own dinner salon, Dinner and Dialogue Tribe, became a real thing and it was pretty cool to watch it evolve. A fabulous frenzy of weddings of my lifetime best friends in Curacao, France, NYC kept me dancing and excited for their new chapters. Olivia’s fight put everything into perspective. Proudly chose creation over destruction at my first Burning Man and walked away richer with a soulsister and Girl Gang like no other. Celebrated Yonina’s 58th birthday in Orlando with the women who make me better.
Put in my 2 weeks notice and walked away from ‘ The Beyonce of Digital Media’ after a 6 year badass run. Performed a MOTH at Daybreaker for 1000 dancing souls at 7am. From Breakout to the Path to tiny dinner parties – NYC never ceased to amaze me with her abundance of incredible souls put in my path. Lived on a boat with 2,000 folks for Summit at Sea and got to watch the sun rise over the ocean with people I’ll never forget. Threw one last epic birthday in NYC – Burning Man themed naturally.
Spent my last night in NYC, sitting on my hot pink couch reflecting on how damn grateful I am for all the growth and LOVE this year brought. I have no idea where or who I will be next year and that’s so thrilling because I used to be so attached to planning everything out. Cheers to 29: finding joy in the unknown, to choosing to see everything as a miracle, and to free falling into wonder.
